The test involved doing sit-ups, push-ups, and a two-mile run. Cadets are expected to pass the minimum requirement, and some go well beyond. Gender and age determine what requisite the individual must meet. Cadre over see the process keeping time and calling out orders as the Cadets try to get a best time and count in the different physical exercises.

Physical fitness has long been a foundation in army training and a core attribute of being a soldier. Cadets are expected to maintain fitness throughout their thirty-one day stay at Fort Knox. And leaders expect all the future soldiers to take on the key tenets of fitness, habits which should follow them through their future life and career.

Cadet Summer Training will bring around 8,200 Cadets through Basic and Advanced Camp this summer on Fort Knox. These camps are designed to help challenge, grow and improve various skills and leadership qualities within the Cadets.
