Regardless whether one has a fear of heights, the course proves challenging in balance and coordination. Cadets are required to complete all obstacles throughout the couple of hours. Safety procedures are implemented and Cadets are secured in place with harnesses and safety lines. This is one of the first opportunities that Basic Camp Cadets can begin to truly rely on their battle buddies.

An important part of the course has to do with Cadets learning to work with their partner who stays by their side throughout the course.

Cadet Destiny Holani from Canisius College said that implements, “…building trust in our battle buddies who are holding the ropes, trusting equipment we’re gonna have on the field, [and] building our condifence so we get over our fears.”

Cadet Summer Training will bring around 8,200 Cadets through Basic and Advanced Camp this summer on Fort Knox. These camps are designed to help challenge, grow and improve various skills and leadership qualities within the Cadets.
