What makes this Cadet stand out from their peers?

Cadet Christopher Han has a strong presence: over six feet tall, with a calm essence and a very approachable leadership style. As a former Army non-commissioned Officer (NCO) he is well-trained in both infantry tactics and military intelligence. He is a current Battalion Commander with a 3.96 GPA, who leads Cadets from the front with high-energy, purpose, direction and motivation to win. Cadet Han is also a professional Muay Thai kickboxing tournament fighter, who uses kickboxing to teach self-defense and positive self-esteem to Augusta University students and in the Augusta community. Cadet Han is a proven American warrior-scholar with deployment experience who gives of himself selflessly to make his Army team the best.

In the Cadet’s own words:

I do what I do, so that I can help shape and mentor the future leaders of tomorrow’s battlefields. Soldiers learn by observing the actions and inaction of their leaders, and they will emulate the characteristics that they observeboth good and bad.

I’ve seen first-hand, over my 15 years of active federal service, the negative effects that a toxic leader can have on a unit; however, I’ve also seen how one great leader can positively change the entire command climate of a unit. I always say that the only things Soldiers truly expect from their leadership is firm guidance and that they genuinely care for them. If they know that you have their back, they will have yours.

One quote that I’ve held on to throughout my military career was written by one of the greatest military tacticians of all time, General Sun Tzu, “Regard your soldiers as your children, and they will follow you into the deepest valleys; look upon them as your own beloved sons, and they will stand by you even unto death.”

My goal is to pass down the knowledge and experience that I’ve gained to my fellow Cadet peers, so that they may have a head start on becoming great leaders.
