Fort Knox, Ky. – Anticipation is high as a new group of Cadets arrive to Fort Knox.
Advanced Camp has officially begun for the 6th Regiment Cadets who arrived yesterday.
With the addition of the Buddy Team Live Fire and hand grenade training to Advanced Camp this year, the Cadets have started day one of the 37-day journey.
“I am a little nervous, but ready to get going,” Cadet Tyler Hone, from Galloway, New Jersey, and a student at Embry–Riddle Aeronautical University, said. “I don’t really know what to expect as of now.”
Cadet Cody Kendrix from Common, Georgia, attending the University of North Georgia, said his training made him more confident for this experience.
“I am a little bit nervous but ready to go. I think I have been trained pretty well and I am looking forward to what I have to do here,” Kendrix said.
Whether it is making new friends or new experiences on the ranges, Cadets have a lot to look forward to.
Cadet Isabella Goschinski, from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, who is attending Virginia Tech, said she is most looking forward to the grenade assault course.
“I have never done anything like that before so that will be pretty cool,” Goschinski said.
Hone said he was excited for the chance to improve his skills with a safe environment to make mistakes and learn.
“I enjoy shooting especially in a really monitored environment where I can work on my shooting,” Hone said.
Bradley said is excited to continue spending time doing what he enjoys.
“I am excited for the range and time on the field. It is what I am used to and comfortable with and what I enjoy,” Bradley said.
