Fort Knox, Ky. – For 37 days, 3rd Regiment Cadets have been working on completing Advanced Camp here at Fort Knox, Ky. Today, the Cadets celebrated the end of their journeys at Cadet Summer Training (CST) by reuniting with family and friends.

Cadets practiced for tomorrow’s graduation on Brooks Field while family and friends were briefed on Advanced Camp in Waybur Theater.
At the end of rehersal, Cadets were released to waiting parents, friends, and significant others.
“My family is pretty important to me, so it is nice to see them,” Cadet Cochise Wanzer, from McLean, Virginia, and attending Clarion University said.
Cadet Joseph Evelo, who is a student at Purdue University, was excited to spend time with his grandfather.
“He served 23 years in the Army,” the Carmel, Indiana, Native said “He is my main family member that I can go to for not just advice on officer things but he is the one family member who is able to understand all the craziness that I go through.”
While reuniting with important people in their lives Cadets reminisced on their time at CST.

Wanzer appreciates his platoon and all they accomplished together.
“As a platoon we have done well,” the Clarion University Cadet said. “We all stuck together and made it through. “
Evelo, not only appreciates his platoon, but specifically some of his battle buddies.
“These guys were always there for me,”Evelo said. “I would not be standing here at family day, today, if not for my battle buddies on my left and right.”
Upon remembering their time at Fort Knox, the Cadets also had some advice to impart on future Advanced Camp Cadets.
“You can not do this on your own,” Evelo said.
Cadet Brianna Mosteller from Orlando, Florida, recommends future Cadets begin working on their exercise plans.
“Be in shape,” the Georgia Military College Cadet said. “They will teach you everything else so as long as you’re shape, you will probably make it.”
