• FORT KNOX, Ky. – Cadets from 2nd Regiment, Advanced Camp took the meaning “early bird gets the worm” to a different level this morning to take on the Army Physical Fitness Test (APFT) at 4 a.m. The APFT is an evaluation for the Cadet to do as many push-ups and sit-ups they can do in 2 minutes while meeting the minimum requirement based on their age and gender. “Its important because it evaluates how physically in shape you are as a Cadet,” said John Owens, Virginia Tech University.   • FORT KNOX, Ky. – 6th Regiment, Advanced Camp Cadets graduated from Cadet Summer Training after a month of vigorous physical and mental development at Fort Knox, July 30. After 19 days in the wet, humid wilds of Kentucky these future lieutenants were rewarded with a cool-overcast day for their Graduation Ceremony. Col. John Cyrulik, Advanced Camp Tactics, was the guest speaker during the ceremony.   • FORT KNOX – 5th Regiment, Advanced Camp Cadets faced off against other Cadets today as part of their Field Training Exercise at Fort Knox, Kentucky July 16. The Cadets mission was to protect their patrol base. For an added challenge, Cadets would have to hold their perimeter for hours while it rained over them. The Cadets had multiple methods of limiting how wet they would be getting.
