Fort Knox, Ky.—Teamwork and trust are not values unique to the Army but they certainly are highly emphasized. 1st Regiment Cadets spent the past two days going through the Buddy Team Live Fire training exercise. Yesterday, the Cadets went down the range practicing with blanks while today, the Cadets moved down range using live ammunition. The CASEVAC exercise is to make sure they are prepared in high-risk environments like the live grenade range. The exercise was all Cadre members. For Cadet Matthew Clark, from Hilliard Ohio, attending Ohio State University, the decision was made in high school. Fort Knox, Ky.–Cadets at Advanced Camp made history June 3, 2019, by being the first Cadets to throw live hand grenades during their time here at Cadet Summer Training. The Cadets were briefed on hand grenade procedures and then were given the task to practice with training grenades. Cadets from First Regiment took part in the WPN Qualification at George Blair Range to test their marksmanship capabilities. 1st Lt. Mike Marta from Apache Company 212 said the course has, “40 targets that they (Cadets) can hit, anywhere from 50 to 300 meters. Fort Knox, Ky.— Tear gas released in the gas chamber of CBRN triggered various reactions in 2nd Regiment Advanced Camp Cadets today. Cadets spent the morning at the CBRN range completing the chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear training. FORT KNOX, Ky – Second Regiment, Advanced Camp, Alpha company tested their Land Navigation knowledge by taking the Map Reading Test. During their ROTC years at their schools Cadets receive the tools and skills to read a map. The Map Reading Test is a pass or fail event for Cadets and important to understand before they actively find points during Day and Night Land Navigation. Cadets in Alpha Company, 1st Regiment Advanced Camp fired the first rounds of Cadet Summer Training 2019 today at Canby Hill Range as part of Basic Rifle Marksmanship training.
